Hi I am Mike Brooks, Owner of CM Athletics. I am a certified personal trainer with the National Exercise & Sports Training Association.  I  also hold a degeree in Business Administration from the California State University of Fullerton.  As a youth and in to my teenage years I've always been active, participating in multiple sports from football, baseball, soccer and basketball.

 

As I approached my mid-twenties, I became intrigued about fitness and began working-out and learning more about the body.  I lacked confidence due to being really slinder and this was an avenue to make a change.  As I noticed changes in my physique my confidence began to grow, I felt stronger, more enregized and overall better about myself. It was soon after when I adopted the mindset of fitness becoming my lifestyle as opposed to just "working-out".  When I hit my thirties I transitioned from my construction career to becoming a Fitness and Personal Trainer. It was then when my passion came alive and I knew this is what I was born to do. From there I worked vigorously to open my own training studio, CM Athletics! "Confidence Matters Athletics"

CM Athletics was born in April 2014. Confidence definately matters and my approach to fitness is to build Confidence in my clients as it relates to living a healthy and active lifestyle.  The better we feel about ourselves the better we perform in every aspect of our life, this applies to our youth, the maturing adolescents, high school athletes, stay at home moms and dads, the business professional, weekend warriors, elite athletes on up to our seniors. CM ATHLETICS Fitness Philosophy is building Confidence through living a healthy and active lifestyle.  We utilize Bio-mechanical Individuality understanding that everyone is unique, so our approach is as such; each program is developed according to each individuals needs.  Our 4 training styles are:

​

(1) Interval Training-(HIIT) Alternating periods of short, intense anaerobic exercises with less intense recovery periods. Proven to blast fat and burn calories during and after your workout, boost endurance and overall health, increase your metabolism and add lean mass.

 

(2) Functional Training-Focusing on compound movements that simulate movements we use in everyday life while recruiting multiple muscle groups at the same. This allows for overall superior muscle development, core strength, balance and stability, and muscle functionality.

 

(3) Structural Training-Building the structure of the body focusing on muscle isolation and muscle imbalances throughout your muscular structure.  This provides a safe method of developing lean mass as each movement is an isolated movement in which form is not compromised.

(4) Sports Performance-Encompassing all elements of your specific sport(s) and the basic elements that every athlete must utilize such as strength, power, explosiveness, acceleration/deceleration, change of direction, speed, agility, quickness and injury prevention.
